Paul started dancing with his girlfriend Marina in 1978, following a club amateur caller contest he was urged to take up Square Dance Calling under the guidance of Steve Turner.
In 1979 he became a trainee caller and opened his first club Rocky Top in 1980, in 1981 Marina and Paul were Married.
The following year Marina and Paul took on a second club, Silver Knights became one of the most successful clubs in the metropolitan area dancing at Mainstream and Plus Level.
1983 was the birth of their first child Craig and in 1985 a daughter Candice.
In 1993 Paul and his family moved south of Perth to a seaside area called Rockingham, Paul began calling for two clubs in this area Breakaways in Rockingham and Dolphin Dancers in Mandurah.
Throughout Paul’s 40 plus year calling career he has been invited as a Feature Caller to call in every state of Australia and many parts of New Zealand for various dance functions and conventions
Recently Paul was honoured to be invited as feature caller for White Horse Square Dance club 70th Birthday the oldest club on Mainland Australia
Over the years Paul has served on the Executive of his State Caller Association and the Australian Caller Federation Board for many years and served as ACF President for a short while ; he has had involvement in programming for three WA National Conventions and was Program Manager for Australia’s first International Square Dance Festival in the year 2000.
Presently Paul and Marina manage a Water Ski Camp Ground at Lakeside Camping three hours South East of Perth
Dolphin Dancers in Mandurah was Pauls last weekly Club commitment , due to travel distance Paul is now only available for Guest Calling at Mainstream and Plus Level for various clubs and functions.
Square Dancing has been very much a great part of Marina and Pauls life where they dedicate much of their time. Paul loves to entertain and strives for the enjoyment he gives dancers.
